Great roots.  That's my good fortune.  There they are, my Grandfather and Grandmother on my Dad's side.  Harold and Ethel in the Ocean on some lovely summer day, maybe 90 years ago. Cool photo don't you think?

I was in Massachusetts over the weekend for a family get together in honor of Harold and Ethel's first child, My Aunt Sue who passed away last year at the age of 95. A tough old Mountain Goat of a spirited human being, our Aunt Sue, genius artist who never was too prolific with her work but carved a path for herself that inspired all of the next generation Meyer kids.

She carved the Monkey thinker back in the 1940's, that I continue to use on my website. She walked up the three flights to her elevator-less apartment overlooking the Charles River up until her stroke at the age of 94.

She new Boston's Mayors and they new her. Relentlessly active in environmental and education causes her apartment door was coated with more environmental stickers than anyone on the planet. Including 'Save the Planet - Kill Yourself' which was always good for a laugh. She new the names of all the workers at her local natural foods store.

She was tough. She was a great human. Boston will miss you.

Don't be shy. Speak your mind. That's the way she lived.
