What a violent civilization we live in.
  Who are we?

Whether we are simply in denial about our most basic Peaceful Nature or whether we may have some awful need for violence. I won't attempt to wrap my mind around either of those possibilities tonight.

It is a shame and I think it is a near crime against all the young people of the world that both Hollywood and Washington DC are in a never ending orgasm of delight in selling young people on violence. There's so much money to be made in Hollywood.
There's so much power to maintain in the glory of the gun in our nation's capitol.
No we won't cut and run. Blow this planet up if we have to and what the heck as Kurt Vonnegut said we are either too lazy or too cheap to work to save the environment. Respect for life, where does that start?

It is sad and sick ... from Video games, to TV, to the Big Screen, to the Halls of the White House, Feed children on the glory of winning your battles through violence. Not through intelligence, not through the power of communication to convert someone to your point of view, not ever seeing the person whom you distrust, dislike turn into your friend. What a victory that would be.

Violence as spectator sport. Once in a while some nut goes off. Very sad. Beautiful human beings in Virginia and in Iraq, they neither want nor deserve the violence that.some tell us is the way to solve problems.
