Before I get to the big mouthful (State of the Union) that I am attempting to bite off here before your eyes in solving the World's problems. Sigh.. shoulders drop, eyes uncross tonight (Saturday Night.. going nowhere) was a perfect night to solve them but alas as usual my consciousness is of the pinhole variety... again. Occasionally this pin hole milk carton photography works. PS, yes I know. More photos, less commentary. I have heard your voices of reason and excellent advice before. And you know what I have done with that.
So onward. It's going to come, the full story of America before February is over (Oh Lord please don't let me be lying again.) One thing I really have no clue about as most of you know is the future.

Here are a couple of stories that I came across in my morning reading that brought me some pleasure.

I am titling this Two Threads:

     Joni Mitchell

In case the NY Times pulls this article from public view.

Just this one quote/paragraph will have to do.

Mr. Grand-Maître’s invitation seemed like an opportunity to present that music in a new context. “Humbly I hope we can make a difference with this ballet,” she (Joni) told him, speaking of her outrage about the foreign and environmental policies of the United States. “It’s a red alert about the situation the world is in now. We’re wasting our time on this fairy tale war, when the real war is with God’s creation. Nobody’s fighting for God’s creation.”

    Thank you Joni.

Then there is Jim Irsay the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, I didn't know much of anything about Jim. I remember reading about his father years ago. As a fan of football, (yes I have been reading these stories about the danger of concussions... and have been witnessing the every increasing intensity of human missile collisions on the football field. Will we or is their a way to flag certain tackles or hits as simply too rough? Maybe it's time. Pretty nasty sport. Maybe someday I'll end-up putting football where I have put Boxing - unfit for humans) Every time I see the Goodyear Blimp pass over some stadium from above all you see if the acres and acres of Pavement,  Earth' s desolation, extraordinary heat generating surfaces that fuel our Climate Crisis. Jim how about every 10th parking space dig it out, put soil and plant an Oak Tree. Maple Trees might be more practical. Provide Buses to the stadium from outlying hubs. Tell everybody to get on the Bus! Remember Kesey?
Come-on! Make money at it Jim.. or break even.. or come close I know you can do it.. Imagine that parking lot in 30 or 50 years. What a legacy to leave behind. You will never get to see it in it's grandeur Oaks grow to slow but the kids of Indianapolis will grow up and it will be their source of Pride about a 'Mad Man' who put Love of Life
first.

We have to Make it our Business. That's the slogan for every Business in America. Cooling the Climate is our Business. Make it Your Business.

40 percent less. On behalf of our children and their children and all the wild animals left on the Planet Earth no more development PERIOD. Not one more acre flipped for economic gain. Every tree on the Planet is designated as what....? No they aren't historic landmarks. They are our Life Support System. Come on Humans wake up and look around you. The developers are us and we need to make a major change.

40 percent less. I am thinking of the urban/suburban footprint of humanity. The asphalt and tar pavement that is like a spreading ocean throughout our communities. No more and a lot less. Jim I wish that you could show them how to do it. 40 percent less would that be anything but a tremendous improvement for our country?

Thank the both of you for being two great strands. Two threads if you don't mind me saying as I was beginning to say as we figure out and it isn't that difficult. It's almost 100 percent Common Sense.
Number one don't destroy the Football Field think of the Planet as a public playing field of Life where all humans do their time and move on. We are not allowed to destroy the field. Is that so hard to figure out? Just because that is the way we have always done it in the past is not a valid excuse. We must find a way and we can but the threads have to begin to weave it together and dream it together and do it together.
