- Oh Lord....
What the heck is going on now?!
Everything... Democracy at work election time in the USA.
A time when the crap flies so thick from every direction
that oh well I guess it is just me. I just am disgusted with it
all and somehow once again I will vote.
You have Congressman Piombo, not my Congressman, flooding
my sports Radio station with the most sick attack adds against
his opponent. I am such a wimp I turn the radio off. Now I see
Laura Bush has come out to campaign for this gentleman calling
him what was it 'an
enthusiastic steward of the environment'.
Laura Bush you dear woman you will have to be held
accountable to someone, maybe when it's your time to visit St
Peter at those old pearly gates. My dear woman he might say so
kindly I know you wanted to be a Good Wife but you cannot lie my
dear and support those who destroy the Earth and lend your
esteemed voice
to such a terrible destruction of God's once Green Earth....
I would say this congressman is a leader in the Rape of
California movement a movement that has been going for quite
awhile not pretty at all. Developments burn up Farmland at a
sickening rate. Scarring the landscapes as they create people
dumps everywhere. Unbelievably ugly crap replacing meadows and
farmland. People want homes they want there own homes but we
live like slaves and serfs accepting such crap from the powers
that be talking about the developers and the local political
machines that feed off their generous financial support. Here in
Marin we have Hamilton, oh yes they are lovely little houses
squeezed in everywhere across the former military base.Thousands
of new residents, you have the God Awful rich people's development
along Ignacio Boulevard. Where from anywhere from $600,000
thousand to maybe a Million you get a really big home with a
yard that might match the exercise yard at Guantanamo and as
lovely view across the yard into your neighbors bathroom window
isn't it nice to be a Millionaire in California.. Hey we live in
a really big house and we have a really big screen Hidef TV.
Life is good. Used and abused that's what I think you all are I
don't know how you can stand living there but I am sorry to
offend.
We F*** America! That's what the Carpenter who
works for one of those major Developers that have gotten so
large that they proudly are listed on the NY Stock exchange told
me as I dropped him off at the lot he was working on about 5
years ago. In San Rafael you have the new 'Redwood Village' up
there behind Merrydale and North San Pedro. Cram them in, yes
sir Big Bucks to be made. That place is really quaint the feel
is so much like Brooklyn hey come on Guy what's not to like
about Brooklyn in California. we are going to open up another NY
Deli around the corner 'We F*** America!' Don't tell anyone I
said that.' he told me it's just a job you know I don't like it
traveling from place to place across America building this crap.
Some intelligent, probably college educated undoubted an
environmentalist caught me venting about the 'Redwood Village'
well at least they were using ground that was just 'open fields'
he told me.
Every beautiful meadow in America that's Ground Zero.
That development machine wants it somewhere in that RedHot Real
Estate market in the Red Hot Zone where Suburbs meet the Country
and turn that land around so quick and the local town councils
and planning commissions can be bought so easily. Just tell them
how much they benefit from the taxes you might get to build your
new town hall and dream of raises... and besides we build 'Green
Houses' now and the world needs Affordable Housing...yes indeed
Civilization Ho-o! as Ward Bond leads the wagon train
West.
Enough venting...
Proposition R big one here in Sonoma and Marin a
little tax to get a cool little Railroad running from Cloverdale
all the way down to Larkspur Landing. All the bicyclists
(railroad and nearbye bike path) love it Environmentalists love
it. I will vote NO on R.
Why no? Because without strong constraints against Development
this is just Fuel For the Fire laying waste to Sonoma County. As
a friend, a carpenter and a good man told me last night
buy a few acres up in Cloverdale right now before the property
starts getting too expensive. Anyways he's right if you want to
make a smart investment and the developers know that too..
On behalf of a lot of remaining countryside North of the
Marin line. The people of Novato who still don't know where the
train stations will be. The entire town council and mayor of
Larkspur has come out against it, the final station their is no
information available by the planners as to where it will be
located at Larkspur landing. I love trains and I believe that
trains are an integral part of an environmentally conscious
Planet coming coming come on...
But this plan is rushed and its Environmental goodness
hides it's dark side. I side with the Audobon Society and the
Marin Conservation League. Vote No it won't be the end of
the world there is plenty of time to get it right.
I can't vote for Arnold. No on Arnold. Sorry Bud. I
like the man in many ways like many of you all but that TV add
worked on me. How the heck can I vote for a man who so
Forcefully endorsed George Bush in 2004? The weird part of it is
that Arnold in California won't even show up to meet George Bush
in person ... keeps all the distance in the world but would
travel to Ohio hoping no one in California noticed.
On the wrong side of a Landslide both times. Most likely.
