The Weather

Everyone is talking about it and nobody wants to do anything about it.

What was that saying? It used to be kind of funny.

Lord God Amighty, what's going on?
    What's going on?!

Is it time to kiss goodbye the innocent age when all our sins seemed to go unnoticed? At least by the powers above. You could pollute. You could burn as much gas as you wanted. You could pack up the family and drive all across the land in innocence and fun and delight. You could chop down trees. You could build to your heart's content all over this land. That's what land was for and still is. Land is a gift from God... know's where, to be used for mankind, a gift to develop and extract money from, that's basic economics, that's real estate, that's life. Its an innocent age, you can put as many parking lots of lovely fresh clean pavement as you need. You can keep expanding the highways forever, forever and ever, into eternity.. to relieve congestion. (A noble notion.) How about artificial playing surfaces great expanses of fresh green all the rage out here in Marin.. so efficient and so comfortable. We are not talking that old-fashioned Astro Turf. You will love this surface. So green and bouncy and very easy to maintain.

Isn't it lovely to be so innocent. Can we pass through life so blithely? So content in our damage wrought upon this miracle biological web of existence called Life on Earth. Do you have children? Do you love children?

   How big is the fire?

   How large is the hole?

That is a fine gift to pass on to our children. But... But I didn't know ... I really am an environmentalist. I do love Nature. I deeply love Nature. I just didn't think it was what I was doing that was making the difference.

So who are we? Why has it taken so long for us to even begin to wake up? We are Life on Earth and somehow we must transform ourselves in this generation.

There is no need to stress ourselves out If I have upped your stress levels... well.. We need to get real.

We all have only one Life and we have a Huge obligation to future generations. We must find a way. The way through the transition. Tired, stressed and maybe not the brightest bulb but a living human. Somehow maintaining our Peace, we can do that.
Refraining from hysterical blamefulness.. we are One. Sharing a hug and a smile on the way. My sense is that God and Nature are One. What is the Nature of God? The nature of God...

You scientists and pragmatic philosophers of existence don't run away. You will have to find a way to live with us fools. We aren't going anywhere. We are all in this together. We may lose our innocence but maybe we can at least restore our pride, our sense of responsibility and have the knowledge that I did stand up. I was willing to adapt my Life to begin to serve the healthy lives of future generations as well as the young and old who walk on the Earth right now.
We must try to find a responsible way of living and it starts with my Life not someone else's.
