The more I think about it the more I like the 'Go
to Hell' defense system against Terrorism.
Tell them to Go to Hell and I wish the heck we didn't have a
Government that was in turn Hellbent on using the whole issue as
a means to just maintain their own 'security' in power while
bleeding our nation. Consolidate and strengthen the whole
concept of a Fighting America a lean and mean 'Freedom Machine'
its our Empire with those good old boys in control. Keep the
citizenry duly paranoid and fearful None of that liberal crap...
though like good students of the Power game you have to use all
your tools to maintain the illusion that you are at the Center
of America. So get your speechwriters to craft some elegant puff
on behalf of Coretta Scott King.

What were all those white people doing up their on the
stage at the service.?
Who invited them?
I guess no one wanted to be rude so you have to invite
them all.
Kind of strange I thought. I mean I can see having a few
but just this phalanx of White Presidents seemed a little
disproportionate to a battle that is not even close to the Top
of the Mountain... actually I do believe we are getting close
but MLK had in mind a Non-Violent Revolution for all the peoples
of the Earth maybe I am stretching but somehow there it seemed
to me he never would have stopped where there is so much
profound suffering and injustice in the world this planet is
packed with Poor, Very Poor and Extremely Poor people. Dying
like .. as if they were less than human to disease and hunger.
And as if Racism has been conquered in America.
Personally I think the battle against racism is fought with as
little intelligence as the battle against Terrorism or for some
Nationalism. For me I think you might just as well forget all of
those battles against such formidable enemies...Impossible
enemies but easily defeated if I think we took a different tack.
Treated not like enemies but as just some mere nutritional
imbalance of intelligence. I believe that little 'ism' thing
means or implies a belief system. Now how can you beat into
submission someone's belief system I don't believe you try you
just keep persistently exposing people to the positive
alternatives and just focus on this greater wholeness that
exists they will come around and maybe quickly.
Reality: Tremendous progress in
America in 'Race' relations over a 50 year period. Tremendous
adjustment of getting what is simply right. That the people of
the world are all human beings. That everyone of all the
variations of evolution from all the corners of the Planet of us
humans are extraordinarily fine beings... well maybe not the
'angry idiots' armed or otherwise prone to go to war.... yeah
and maybe we all are just a little nuts in our own ways
OK so we got some issues, but overall nothing that a little
money in our pockets, maybe a job you liked, a good roof over
our heads wouldn't mellow out most of us stress cases.
Reality: In America long long ways to go.
Why do the poorest schools in America get the
least attention? Why isn't that where we have the highest
priorities?
Unbelievable.
Why are foul places like San Quentin in
California filled with young black men doing time for petty
crimes where young white men from wealthy circumstances wouldn't
possibly be there. Example false ID to a police officer can you
imagine your good teenager busted from over here in the Kent
Woodlands dumb enough to show the phony ID that got them into
the bar to the Cop who pulled them over. I bet it happens. They
don't end up in San Quentin. 'They need the bodies' as a young
man (with his buddies on his release date from Quentin) I drove
home in my cab one day explained to me. Who does? The prison
system its a major economic force here in California every
politician has received their gift from the Prison Guard
Unions.. that's right some more Prisons just what we need.
Do we accept that just because these are poor
people or is it easier to stay blind because they are poor black
men? I think we have a long way to go.
Try to stay on the positive path I told these guys
in my own way
don't go back. Born in the wrong neighborhood they said. Well
Personal Responsibility guys we got to find our own power in the
meantime all these elected representatives in our Democracy need
a strong dose of that too. Is this a form of corruption this
Prison Union lobby in California and do poor black and latino
men pay the price? It's all complicated but I just don't think
any American Politician present or former should be on the stage
to remember the King legacy Corettas and Martins without
rededicating themselves to the battle particularly in the realm
of Education and in our Prison and Justice system..
Let's face it personal responsibility needs to become the
standard
the Gold Standard. Long ways to go. Teaching kids teaching
ourselves.
