Back from my
intriguing two weeks in Mexico and already it has been two weeks here at
home. Life continues at a pace that only I... only I ...if only I had a
little more common sense, then perhaps I would be not trying to accomplish
so much with so little available time and resources.
The more you try to do the further behind you get.
Still somehow I feel all will come together someday. In
the mean time aiming towards pruning back.
The Music in the Park undertaking has proven to be a
rather huge project and all I can hope is
that next year I make sure not to say Yes I can.
With 3 shows in the books and 4 more to go all ...It's a Good
Thing! As many remind me.
Great music. I have heard some call San Anselmo a 'dead town'
I don't go for that at all but
their are times when I wonder...Where the heck are the people of my
fine little town? Why won't they come out and hang out and support
their local musical artists? I'll forgive them and say simply that still
the promotion for our event has been very weak and with lack of funds
anyways lots of
room for improvement... Hey Guy! ...this year is far from over the people
just don't know yet just relax it will happen. Take it Easy as my good
friend from Saucillo. Elias would tell me... 'Take it easy..'
Soul Pie was amazing this past Sunday. What a thrill
and a privilege to have some kids from your local High School and Junior
High, the oldest is 17 who make such fine awesome old-fashioned Rock! Jaw
dropping.. Wow..! My
ohMy!
A Local merchant grabbed me on the street today and
told me that I needed to be at a 7:30 candlelight service supporting the
woman outside the President's Ranch. Forgive me I am not really into
per/se supporting her but I am continually burdened by the deaths of so
many on a daily basis over there and in support of the woman Cindy and
even more so in support of those who are in Iraq today whose lives are
threatened on a daily basis both Americans and Iraqis so many of them who
are alive tonight will not be alive a month from now a year from now.. unbelievable
that there is no traction in what needs to be a movement an American
Revolt against the leadership of lies.
Some say why can't the liberals get over it re: Bush
Lied.
The reason is that people die on a daily basis and he
is still given respect as a man who stands for Democracy, that ostensibly
this is a fight for Democracy when in reality this War was approved by a
Congress that received false evidence in it's justification. This was
evidence deemed unequivocal when
in reality every one behind the scenes new it was far from certain in fact
the evidence was already deemed unreliable by a variety of fully
documented sources even before the war was launched. The President used
the full power and prestige of his office to Ram this war into existence
frightening the media to this day from doing their constitutionally
sanctioned duty in confronting America with the full truth of the Rush to
War. Frightening the Democratic party into obeisance for to be a Liberal
to be Weak to be afraid to Fight for one's country is a ticket to Nowhere
and so the Democrats fell into Line. Then on to the United Nations where
this institution begun after World War II by men the like of Franklin
Roosevelt and Winston Churchill new that the only way to prevent the
Insanity of the War in the middle of the last century would be to have all
the nations of the world join into a World Body that was founded on the
principals of Democracy (despite it leaving the 'Great Powers' with
Greater Powers) still Democracy was it's foundation and when the USA
presented it's arguments the same group of nonsense and wishful thinking
(the reality we were wishing that we could prove Saddam was as evil as
possible) as had been presented to the Congress and the American People.
Secretary of State Colin Powell caved in against his own conscience and
behaved liked the Good Soldier and provided his stern lecture based on
wishful thinking and bogus evidence, to the
Representatives of the nations of the World and they turned the US down
they said no you do not have the permission of the UN to launch this war
and of course that was not going to stop George Bush and his Power Team.
So anyways forgive me people for going on most of you know all this
and are more learned than I am on the subject. I am just an observer not
an expert, someday I want it written down by the media point by point step
by step. So this is where we are.
In the name of Fighting Terror we have wrought Terror on the People
of Iraq.
In the name of Democracy we have sentenced thousands of young
American Men and Women to risk and give up their lives for a war begun
through the betrayal of Democracy.
This is a war that no Conservative with any integrity or common
sense would have approved if offered anything close to a balanced account
as to the true nature of the threat posed by the Saddam Hussein regime.
This war would not have existed but for the willingness of the current
Executive to obscure the truth to further his or their own personal goals
of altering the world, possibly he/they might say with good intentions but
yet willing to twist and obscure the truth to further their ends. This war
was a Betrayal of Democracy and is a Crime against the American People.
Forgive me for sounding angry. I guess I am.
So I went down to the vigil and met a
handful of concerned and friendly people in front of the Town Hall. I am
very glad I did that it was very peaceful and I feel better that I
participated.
More rock more music.. less anger.... catch me more
often at Bandlands.
